12. Jiro Components Browser Extension
This section applies specifically to users of the Jiro Components browser extension for Chrome.
12.1 What the Extension Does
The Jiro Components extension allows users to browse our UI component library and add component prompts directly into AI coding tools like Bolt.new.
12.2 Data Collection by the Extension
What We Collect:
- Authentication Status: The extension checks whether you are logged into jiro.build to determine access to component prompts. This is done using cookies already set by jiro.build in your browser.
- Local Preferences: The extension stores preferences (such as onboarding completion status) locally on your device using Chrome's storage API.
What We Do NOT Collect:
- Browsing history
- Content from websites other than bolt.new and jiro.build
- Keystrokes or form data
- Personal files or documents
- Screenshots or screen recordings
12.3 How the Extension Uses Data
- To verify your jiro.build login status
- To display component information fetched from jiro.build
- To remember your extension preferences locally
- To inject component prompts into Bolt.new when you request it
12.4 Extension Permissions Explained
storage: Used to save your local preferences (like whether you've seen the welcome tutorial). No personal data is stored.
activeTab: Required to display the component browser interface on Bolt.new pages.
Host permissions (jiro.build): Required to fetch component data and verify authentication.
Host permissions (bolt.new): Required to inject component prompts into Bolt.new's chat interface.
12.5 Data Sharing by the Extension
The extension only communicates with:
- jiro.build — Our own servers, to fetch components and check login status
- Cloudflare R2 CDN — To load component thumbnail images and preview videos
The extension does not share data with any other third parties.
12.6 Limited Use Disclosure
The Jiro Components extension's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
